iOmega StorCenter ix2 NAS server supports Bluetooth - backup cellphone data made easy


iOmega has announced its new NAS Server - StorCenter ix2, which is made for both home and business users and it’s the first device from the company that comes equipped with Bluetooth connectivity.

Since this iOmega NAS supports Bluetooth, meaning that it allows you to send over your pictures, video and other data on your cellphone or other Bluetooth-capable devices to store on this NAS server.

The StorCenter ix2 NAS comes with two-bay network storage device which the hard drives are not easily replaceable. The device has no RAID 0 configuration, it actually comes in JBOD configuration. But you can configure a RAID 1 mirroring for it, so you have a duplicate of you data that makes it safer.

This iOmega NAS also works with a real-time surveillance system by supporting network Axis video surveillance camera. Home users can make use of the features such as UPnP and DLNA devices for sharing multimedia contents. This NAS also comes with the backup utility tool, EMC Retrospect Express, which automates the backup of data from your computer’s hard drive to this NAS.
